Sculptures by Eric K. Drury Space by Taylor & Miller Architects
Both Drury and the architects start from a single unit, cut from sheet material, folded, and joined together into larger forms. Drury’s suspended paper sculptures are skeletal, based on openwork geometric structures. Taylor & Miller develop metal units into a reptilian flexible surface.
Drury is influenced by the reductive, minimalist strain in Western art and by the calligraphic and arithmetic traditions of the Middle East. He is based in Pittsfield, Mass. Gallery Boreas has presented his work in Pittsfield, Brooklyn and Milan.
Taylor & Miller have architecture and design studios in Pittsfield and Brooklyn. While indulging in the present, their designs reach for timelessness, imbued with the latent relationships between context and architecture.
