Teruyo Fujiyama 「Teruyo’s World 〜Colors and Power〜」

Bio:

Teruyo Fujiyama was born in 1981 in Japan. She was a little girl with lots of curiosity, who drew pictures on the walls in the living room, enjoyed singing with her grandmother, and was interested in flowers. Since then, Teruyo has enjoyed drawing anything around her, such as flowers and birds, in her energetic style. She looks very happy when she is drawing. She uses her favorite colors without any hesitation. On seeing her start to draw something, nobody can tell what kind of picture it is going to be, but she always completes a vivid and bright picture. Her work is beyond our imagination. Teruyo has Down’s syndrome and needs special care. So her mother has had a good time with her trying new things to enrich her emotions and sensitivity. She has won many awards and prizes in art competitions these past ten years and has participated in many group exhibitions around Kobe, where she is living and in Tokyo. Her work was also exhibited in Venezia and Bologna in Italy, and Tianjin and Shanghai in China. It is our great pleasure if many people enjoy her work and are encouraged by her work.
