The exhibition comprises three distinct but related bodies of work – Wyeth, Fluid Dynamics, and Frolic Architecture – all which explore photography’s relationship to painting. In the ongoing series Wyeth, Welling traveled to Maine and Pennsylvania in pursuit of the subjects and places painted by American artist Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009), who was a major source of inspiration in Welling’s early years as an artist.
