Smack Mellon is pleased to present Adriane Colburn’s installation Spectral Reckoning and Cheryl Molnar’s new collage works in Better Homes and Gardens. This will be the first solo exhibition in NY for both artists. Colburn and Molnar share a thematic similarity as they investigate the tension between human progress and the natural world. San Francisco-based artist Adriane Colburn incorporates data collected from her recent expeditions on scientific research vessels to the Amazon and Arctic for her latest project which combines sculptures, video and light projections, and a large-scale hand-cut paper and photograph installation. Brooklyn-based artist Cheryl Molnar focuses her attention on the idyllic prefab suburban neighborhoods constructed to provide families the “American Dream” for her newest collage and painting work.
