Galerie Protégé is pleased to present Invisible Cities, an exciting solo exhibition of historical process and mixed media photography by Danielle Ezzo.

Through a unique cameraless approach to photography, Ezzo utilizes salting printing, an early 19th century photographic process, to yield haunting constellations. These conceptual abstractions, which re-aestheticize how we view contemporary photography, symbolize human inner-connectivity. Through delicate line work hand applied atop blank negatives, Ezzo draws links—literally and figuratively – to simulate person-to-person networks in an effort to re-contextualize the social definition of kin.

A continuation of Ezzo’s previous series of mixed media salt prints entitled Kindred Systems, Ezzo seeks to stimulate discourse regarding the methods in which technology facilitates relationships as well as the notions surrounding the ideas and politics inherent in today’s perceptions of personal inner-connectivity, marriage, social ties, love, and the constructs of family in the current era.
