Marco Schmitt woke up this morning and got himself a line of speed. He is on a crazy Madre road trip, driving through tunnels like a speed-boring machine, sucking out the Madre Juice of its own bored straw. Driving on bridges above all Madre lines. He is driving to reach Madre. He is driving to get Madre. He is driving to be Madre. Madre is sitting in the Backseat.

He gets high. She gets high. He gets high. She gets high. He gets high. She gets high. He picks up The Hitchhikers from the highway, not knowing that they are coming. Marco Schmitt (Germany) studied in film, performance, and installation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, Germany, as a student of artist Christian Jankowski. He also studied at the California College of the Arts, San Francisco, and Art Academy, Vienna. He is currently a recipient of a scholarship for graduate studies awarded by the German state. Since 2006 his work has been presented in international group and solo shows at museums and galleries including Casa del Lago, Mexico City; Invisible Exports, New York; Richmond Art Center, California; Wiensowski & Harbord, Berlin; Kunstmuseum, Stuttgart and Self-Service, Stuttgart. His work is represented in the collections of the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart and various private collections. Currently he is promoting artists in USA, in addition to the development of specific actions and projects for the local context.
