Narrative drives Melanie Perreault’s immersive and site-specific installations in which the artist performs her characters in their natural environments. In her latest installation at AC, Perreault creates a world where a girl surrounds herself with books and encyclopedias, reading all day in the hopes of learning everything there is to know. Her piece using the narrative of childhood to comment on feelings of isolation and the loss of knowledge in the digital era.
