AUTOREDACT is a 5 day exhibit at a new Bushwick gallery, Loft 594. This exhibit will feature 9 artists hailing from LA, Chicago, New York and Philadelphia respectively, combining painting, collage, sculpture, performance and installation work. The coined title is intended to evoke a sense of patron as curator, manifesting narratives about the pairings of the work that may or may not have been suggested by the curator herself, Jessica Hong. Ms. Hong, was asked to select works from previously chosen artists and locate them in the gallery with the intention of creating themes and relationships that resonated with the architecture of the space. The theme of redaction has been issued for this exhibit to address the sometimes difficult development of relationships between artworks in group shows. A conceptual visual redaction is suggested to the viewer to develop a sense of linkage amongst the work and spur conversations as to the prospective arc of the show.
