Five artists use handcrafted embroideries, ceramics, painting and drawing to map the intricacies of human sensory perception: sound, taste, touch, body, mind, color. These mechanisms of contact with the world are researched through these sensations that reach into the deepest parts of human consciousness. The weaving, textured layers of embroidery provide direct physical and conceptual references to the vast networks of sensory impulses that manifest in the real and imagined spaces of human anatomy. Likewise, ceramics reference the body through its molding and shaping properties.
