You may think of overturned cars and tear gas canisters or a bare-breasted woman storming the Bastille, but an uprising is also an awakening from a deep sleep. The history of the arts is littered with uprisings and retrenchments, from the Salon de Refuses to the non-profits of the Twenty-first Century we are all revivified by fresh infusions of creative blood”. – Parsons professor/curator Peter Drake.
This exhibition, conceived as an awakening of a new generation of artists and as a response to the art world’s perennial call-to-arms, presents new work by twenty-four 2006 Parsons MFA graduates.
