My work is often about the world we have inside us confronted with the life we are forced to accept and live with. I like to find small moments where you can find bigger questions. I look for the vibration between the spoken and unspoken. – Julia Peirone
Peirone photographs her subjects in everyday situations, such as shopping at the grocery store or sitting in the park. She then digitally collages the images so they appear isolated from both their surroundings and interactions with others. The people and objects in her compositions exist seemingly unaware of their environment and their fellow occupants of Peirone’s compositions.
