Busby continues his exploration into the intricacies of stylistically minimal and conceptually rich confounding objects. A master of contradiction, the artist manages to fuse such desperate elements as minimalism and surrealism. Created by the slow layering and careful polishing of many layers of white gesso over wood, these objects are exactingly adorned with elaborate and, from a distance, virtually transparent relief elements that conjure sometimes elaborate science-fiction cityscapes.

Also on view is the Carnival of Dervishes, a solo exhibition by New York based and South Korean born artist Eunjung Hwang. Hwang renders her extraordinary animated and sometimes perverse imagery in cryptically complex paintings, drawings, large-scale animations and installations. The works as a whole are temporal, in constant motion, and hint at a larger ubiquitous nether-world full of mutated citizens, constantly making love, raping, killing, or simply stuck moving in endless circles for eternity.
