The exuberant color palette of Sydney Chastain-Chapman immediately attracts attention. Her resourceful characters are as alluring as they are off the wall, each playing up attributes of femininity such as fake nails and wigs. In this exhibition, A Miss June bride sits atop a bar stool in a split desert/mountain range and beside her Miss December presents her action-packed tropical vacation in a gilt gold frame. Miss September is noticeably missing as the rest of the calendar girls assertively gaze at the viewer.
