Children, is a selection of black and white photographs by Builder Levy. Levy utilizes his camera to document what he has experienced through his socially conscious perspective.

The camera provides Mr. Levy with the freedom to capture fortuitous moments and as he describes, “photographs that reveal the richness of humanity that persevered despite, or perhaps in resistance to, the harsh realities within these neighborhoods.” Children evokes the visions and sensations of what happens when we immerse ourselves in the worlds of others and allow their lives to inspire art.

A selection of images of youngsters has been chosen for this exhibit from among Levy’s photographs of New York City, the Appalachian coalfields, Mongolia, Cuba, and demonstrations from the 1960s and the new millennium by guest curator June Bateman.
