No Laughing Matter will feature sculpture, drawing, painting, video, and installation. This exhibition is attentive to the significance of existing belief systems. Each artist works within a personalized language of visual communication. With dissent and iconoclasm they speak to the destruction of these languages and their inevitable revitalization. Sacrifice, associated with the artistic process, is No Laughing Matter for the artist. Conversely many of the artists in this exhibition use humor, absurdity, and playfulness as qualities in their work.
