I would be hard-pressed to find a collaborative art group that had a greater influence on contemporary installation art than TODT. D.Dominick Lombadi, Sculpture Magazine October 2006
The name, New Bellum – New War – not only seems appropriate to TODT’s aesthetic commentary but to where we have found ourselves.
TODTs’ operative since their inception as a collaborative, has integrated the modern narratives of objects to the contending theories of our times. Sometimes playful occasionally controversial, TODT always focused never fails to inflate an already inflated subject. But always with the wit and wisdom of a realist. For Reality is the beautiful subject – for TODT it is the only subject, which transcends nothing funnily into this world.
An aesthetic culled from acts of collusion inhabiting a form – a form that merges that which is conspicuous to that which is hidden. New Bellum is a war that may be ideologically NEW enough, to render the excess of its victory a final defeat.
