The three major pieces included in the show are based around concepts of data-mapping and interfacing. Each art-interface requires users input and automatically translates it into stylistic frameworks of modernist masters: Piet Mondrian, Jackson Pollock and Philip Glass. The installations include wall projections, screens, keyboards, printers and speakers.
These incredibly complex, Macromedia Flash based projects philosophically examine artistic languages as systems of communication, and expose their simple stylistic rules. Driven by user data, Yeh’s interfaces generate images and sounds according to the authorship rules of the modernist classics. They are poetic examples of postmodern approach, confident and elegant.
