Tavares Strachan will exhibit sculptural works, one of which features a recreation of the major artery system of the human body, fabricated from hollow blown glass and immersed in a Plexiglas box containing 300 gallons of mineral oil, rendering the artery nearly invisible. Strachan, who received his MFA from Yale University in 2006, is attracted to how physical space displacement completely changes one’s reality.
This exhibition coincides with a solo show of his work at Pierogi (177 N 9th Street, Brooklyn) October 13 – November 13.
