The Jack Shainman Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of new photographs by Adi Nes. The exhibition is comprised of photographs made in collaboration with the fashion magazine Vogue Hommes International that continue his investigation of the complexities of Israeli identity and the representation of masculinity. Nes’ new photos depict policemen and the detention of prisoners in a series of images that resonate in light of recent political events. The photos also raise questions about the impact of confinement (physical, political, and psychological) and the “inner prisons†we construct in separating and differentiating ourselves from “the Otherâ€.
