This photo exhibit shows the face of today’s Afghanistan through its children. The majority of the pictures were taken by Steve McCurry, universally recognized as one of today’s finest image-makers. McCurry is perhaps best known for his photograph of the green-eyed Afghan girl featured on a 1985 cover of National Geographic.
Selected images by Afghan women photographers are also included in the exhibit. The photos are complemented by quotes from “Coming of Age in a Globalized World: The Next Generation”, a new book by M. Adams and A. Carfagna that reveals the interconnected nature of today’s age and challenges the next generation to forge global connections to overcome global problems.
