Hans Accola’s wooden forms are somewhere between sculpture, architecture, and furniture making; encompassing layered textures which pull apart, but at the same time are carefully crafted. Often taking on a life of their own, they reveal intricacies for the viewer to discover. In Accola’s new work, he continues to explore form with a sense of play and experimentation.
Also on view will be new oil paintings by Benjamin Britton. Britton’s paintings convey the sensory details of specific experiences. Through the use of illusion, as well as abstraction, he forms the underlying and often unnamed structure of memory. He creates off-kilter views of juxtaposed imagery, layering and revealing with exquisite detail.
