Esper’s most comprehensive exhibit to date spans a selection of ambitious robotic installations created over the past three years. These sculptures utilize the physical properties of electromagnetism, gravity, light and sound as metaphors for human relationships. By concept, form and function Esper’s work is interactive.
Gallery One: Gathered Voices Suspended electromagnetic pendulums influence each other’s movements in self-organizing patterns generating dialogue.
Gallery Two : Enlightenment Red, blue and yellow LEDs on spinning vanes in a dark room unveil to a viewer their own shadow cast as light while onlookers see them as separate figures.
Gallery Three: Weaver Giant spider hands respond to the sound of footsteps in a pitch black lair, capturing visitors in a web of red and blue light as they move around the room.
