Exhibition of Selections from The Camera Club of New York’s Darkroom Residency Program

Alfred Lowenherz Gallery/The Camera Club of New York
853 Broadway, 2nd Floor, 212.260.9927
Soho
February 7 - March 10, 2007
Reception: Wednesday, February 7, 7 - 9 PM

The new Darkroom Residency Program of the Camera Club of New York is a unique program in the New York area that provides emerging photographers with free use of color and black and white darkrooms, plus a shooting studio, for the period of one month, throughout the year.

Many photographers learn to print in college and graduate programs where printing is free and then have to face the high costs of rental darkrooms once they’re out of school. This program gives a jump start to the production of photographers’ work, with the added perk of inclusion in a group exhibition at the end.

Residents are chosen by a changing jury of photo professionals, respected for their awareness of current trends and concerns within the medium.

Exhibiting Artists Include:

Julia Blaukopf Frank Franca Joelle Jensen Jessica Kaufman Lisa Kereszi Kim Kremer Oz Lubling Joseph Maida Stacy Mehrfar Dana Miller Alex Morel Peter Riesett Stephen Schuster Erin Siegal Keith Sirchio Alison Slein Sally Tosti Bernard Yenelouis Shigeki Yoshida
