This exhibit features photographs spanning 70 years of life on the Lower East Side. With photographs by members of the Educational Alliance community including distinguished alum Rebecca Lepkoff, and professional photographers Leonard Goodman, Michael Macioce, Mimi Wlodarczyk. Together, these images provide a vivid panoramic portrait of an ever-changing neighborhood.

Featured artist Rebecca Lepkoff has been eloquently documenting life on the Lower East Side since 1937 when she became involved with the Photo League. The recent publication of her monograph Life on the Lower East Side: Photographs by Rebecca Lepkoff, 1937-1950, has revived interest in her vintage street photographs.
