A large kinetic mechanical sculpture, One One Seed in Four Stages will be visible from 36th Street 24 hours a day and is best viewed at night.

Each of four consecutive windows represents a distinct stage in an imagined pseudo-biological process. The series of windows are connected by a traveling illumination unit which alters the content and presentation of the sculpture as it moves. Together the four windows can be read as a visual narration of decay and regeneration.

The artist’s work often focuses on the mundane everyday systems and processes which effect our physical and theoretical selves. In One Seed in Four Stages, he investigates the cyclical nature of change and the contrast between organic and mechanical systems.
