In the season premier of the The Four Seasons, laughs abound as Mr. Pizza Delivery Guy arrives late to the gallery opening, tripping over the curb yet brilliantly salvaging the pizza. Although the majority of the crowd has dispersed or has yet to arrive, there is no doubt that they feel his plight. Drummer Aaron Comess has grown impatient, as he’d like to get the show on the road. Certainly the exchange of a few hot peppers for a drum piece seemed like a fun idea at the time, yet now he’s not so sure.

Gallery owner C. Sean Horton appears relieved. Not only will the artists be fed, he may politely excuse himself from conversation with a savvy collector to make sure that “everything is okay.” As an art dealer he’s safe, he knows that. It’s like selling cars, albeit often good ones, well made, historically sound, etc. Trying to solicit the capitalization of a new spice company to produce one product, a combination of four common spices, presents the illusion of a brand new ball game. Perhaps he’ll grow into the role, realize that there’s very little difference, though one could say a killer spice is for the world in the now and a piece of art is for the world in reproduction.

Marjorie and Ludwig can no longer hide. Marge worries that there won’t be any vegetarian slices as Ludwig assures her that everything is going smoothly. Although stricken with stage fright, they must eat some of the pizza as it is their big role in the season premier. Their performances must be flawless as their careers are on the line. Fortunately for them they’re hungry.
