Jae Hi Ahn started The Seascape series after her trip from Korea in 2006. Ahn was visiting Korea for her grandmother’s funeral during the winter of 2006. Her hometown, Dangjin, is located in West Coast with the scene of endless small mountains. Using vinyl tube, plastic cutout, wire, and pins, this Seascape is reminiscent of her home’s landscape and grandmother’s tomb. Jae Hi Ahn’s Dreaming Plant is her most recent sculpture. She constructed Dreaming Plant with vinyl tubes, plastic cutout, wire, and pins. She has been experimenting with these materials since 2006 and has created this large-scale sculpture, which consists of endless lines of repeated organic form.
