In the project space, Jessica Dickinson will present an artist’s book titled What Remains After A Fire? Inspired by the epic nature of illuminated manuscripts, it is an approximately fifty-paged hand bound book that creates a fragmented narrative that chronicles an extended sequence of time and change. Using gouache and pencil, the drawings range from the immediate to the contemplative as they shift between recognition, abstraction, urgency and intimacy. For this exhibition, twelve drawings from the beginning of the book will be removed and installed as a frieze. The book will be displayed for viewers to page through.
