In her first show at artMovingProjects the artist grows an edition of 96 tobacco seedlings (Nicotiana tabacum Burley) under indoor lights. In a companion piece, the artist’s all-natural, garden-grown tobacco has been made into cigarettes, which have in turn been placed on the shelves of Brooklyn bodegas, unbeknownst to either the merchants or the potential customers. The artist embraces the `do-it-yourself’ ethos in her investigation of the American spirit.
