For “Clear Blue Sky” Aidan Savoy Gallery has selected nineteen favorite newcomers and put them together for a summer group show. Whether through submissions, seeing new work in exhibitions, or a series of serendipitous events, ASG has discovered several artists this year whose stories are fascinating and whose work is inspiring. For all of the participating artists, this will be their first show at Aidan Savoy Gallery. Only 5 of the 19 artists are local, and the rest come from as far as Vancouver, Santa Fe, Bogota, Chicago, Portland and the US Virgin Islands. The resulting show is a collection of fresh and compelling contemporary works.

The artists cover a broad range of experience -from former Lower East Side resident Alexandra Eldridge who has had several successful and acclaimed solo shows since1986, to Christina Dallorso Bush who is the art education coordinator at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe NM, but for whom this will be her first NYC exhibit; from recent NYC transplant Tonya Engel who has her paintings in private collections and public murals around the world, to sculptor Geoffrey Gorman who has had few exhibits but who owns his own consulting business and runs artist workshops in New Mexico; from Columbian born and raised Maria Isabel Arango who has shown her work in galleries in NYC, Columbia and Spain, to Brooklyn based painter Ryan Scully who was awarded a 2 year scholarship to the New York Academy of Art and has been exhibiting his work in NYC galleries since 2004. Aidan Savoy Gallery is proud to unite this diverse group of artists. Among the artists’ Alma maters are, Art Institute of Chicago, Parsons School of Design, New York Academy of Art, and Art Center College of Art & Design.
