The high era of social democracy has been dated from 1952 to 1977, but the decline of the welfare state did not show as an issue in artistic practice before the mid nineties. Since then, the Scandinavian art scene has witnessed a row of individual artistic projects and group exhibitions dealing with issues related to the welfare state.
