Since time memorial, established artists have owed their success to many people; the completion of great work often involves a team of great assistants. The artist assistants, gallery assistants, art handlers, and others who are the spine of the west Chelsea gallery scene devote countless hours and most of their time to the work of others. At the brink of exhaustion, the challenge of sustaining a subordinate career remains!

Prior to success, many employers serve as assistant. The group exhibition Nightshift II: Hidden Hands is dedicated to twenty-nine emerging artists who spend tireless hours and days toiling for the established Chelsea community, yet possess the conviction to nurture their own careers. The exhibition offers the inconspicuous aides of the Chelsea Arts District an opportunity for additional success.

With engaging painting, sculpture, installation, video, and performance, Night Shift II: Hidden Hands is evidence that the assistant can be just as talented as the assisted, and deserve to be exhibited.
