Heskin Contemporary is pleased to present “Revolution of the Virtuous”, an exhibition featuring Julie Currie’s recent photographs which will be on view from September 6th – September 22nd, 2007. A reception for the artist will be held on Thursday September 6th, from 6-9 pm.

“Revolution of the Virtuous” comes out of my feeling that so much contemporary photography is of people/objects/scenes that are disturbing to the eye and the mind. I want to present images that are pleasing and interesting and full of fascinating detail – from both living and naturally occurring subjects. Things that humans could in no way dream up or recreate. -Julie Currie

Currie’s singular image photographs capture an act or state in nature that is fleeting – the damselflies will separate, the ice will melt, the mosquito will have it’s fill of the frog’s blood. Her subjects are alluring, drawing the viewer in to examine the myriad of details within them. The images, printed on premium canvas with the d’Vinci Fine Art printing platform, are so crisp they appear as windows to another dimension.

This exhibition at Heskin Contemporary is Julie Currie’s first solo exhibition in New York City.
