TextConcurrent to the exhibition 25 Years Later… at The UBS Art Gallery, which becomes a site for alternative art and happenings, a new commission by artist Judi Werthein turns Art in General’s gallery into a space reminiscent of a corporate lobby. Through this conceptual reversal, Werthein investigates, both esthetically and critically, the corporatization of culture, and also plays with the trend of arts organizations to devise ever more attractive and unique graphic identities. Partially informed by the ideas (and ideals) of Art in General, Werthein’s design is being used in Art in General’s stationery and website for the duration of its 25th anniversary celebrations.
