Jason Rulnick is honored to present a selection of recent paintings from Kora Jünger in the gallery’s first solo exhibition and the artist’s first exhibition in New York. Jünger’s various bodies of work focus on an unconscious condition of society, emotions as the transmitter and mirror of humankind.

The work presented has been developed in the past two years. In the early paintings Jünger re-creates a scene or a persona where the artist and viewer is the outsider. The recent paintings are extremely fresh as Jünger embodies the emotion of her subject in addition to being the witness.

The exhibition includes a group of drawings on paper that reveal the investigative nature of the artist and her desire to transform a glancing first impression into a thorough picture of ones emotional state.
