Michael Steinberg Fine Art is pleased to present Spilling Genesis, a solo exhibition of new works by Stephen Pusey.

Stephen Pusey’s large acrylic paintings are a vibrant combination of line and color that suggests transparent forms that are constantly shifting and changing. Pusey builds this interlace of brush marks at speed and in an autonomic, random, manner. The result – though never a set symmetry – gives the sense of a morphing architecture that continues beyond the boundaries of the canvas. The artist’s quest is to intuitively codify a universal energy which flows through existence. He is particularly interested in the resonance of organic and inorganic forms and how these are reflected as a persistent signature in the things we create and investigate. Although Stephen Pusey’s work reflects an inner journey, he is keenly interested in those scientific theories that coincide with what is explored in his paintings.
