The works in this exhibition were chosen for their visual intensity, born out of the fertile and tense cohabitation of critical thought and intuition. They vibrate with possibility, unstable and shifting. This riot is not a destructive, disassembling act but rather a creative, generative rampage. A cross infection, the works collide with the viewer and with each other.
Explosive and visceral, what encounters the viewer throbs with an energy that is felt physically. The rationality of ideas and meanings is undone, refracting and unraveling, exploding and regrouping. Rather than delivering a message or illustrating an idea, each work triggers cultural, emotional, and sensual responses that take us to a different place from where we were, a place somewhere outside language. And that experience is a quiet passage where reverie and memory swirl and subside only to bubble up again.
