Orchard will open “Image Coming Soon”, the third installment of this year’s Karin Schneider’s two prior experiments with oil painting, space, and different forms of moving image: film, video and photography. The first was staged at the Sculpture Center in NY last February, the second one at Forde, Geneva in June. Schneider’s exhibition at Orchard will feature an intervention in the gallery’s space, which will be bisected by a transparent wall. Schneider’s piece is conceived simultaneously as an artwork and a display machine. With different degrees of autonomy and collaboration “Image Coming Soon” incorporates several other pieces by: Sarina Basta, Melanie Gilligan, Amy Granat, Eileen Quinlan, Leticia Sabsay, Judy Werthein. There will also be a film program curated by Francisca Caporali.
