The Kravets/Wehby Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of new work by Charlie Roberts. The exhibition opens Saturday December 15, with a reception from 6-8 pm and runs through January 26, 2008.
Charlie Roberts can’t stop. He is an aficionado of all that is visual. The reused, recycled, reclaimed, and re-appropriated all find a way into his diverse media. Historic characters are reconstructed of found wood in a celebrity cabinet of curiosities. A wooden locket reveals bounty hunters awe-struck eyes over found treasure. In a large scale drawing he continues to unearth and sort enthralling collections of people and mushrooms. The quest for more is forever a component of Charlie’s work.
This will be his second solo exhibition at the gallery. His work is currently included in “The Incomplete” at the Chelsea Art Museum. A solo show of his work opens at the Rice University Art Gallery in January 2008. Last year his work was included in “Paint” at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
