The exhibition Threshold is an exploration of the various approaches to the territory of the edge. The terrain of the edge maybe defined by architecture, habitation, sexuality, the natural world, death or by methods of representation. Standing at these edges, the artists have peered past boundaries and projected their interior states onto and into the scenes. This work brings together the idea that environments are malleable entities. A landscape can be transformed by an object or by the quality of light. A drawn line can create or erase information. The juxtaposition of images can invent a dialogue. The edge is a place of fiction. The photographs in this exhibition are paradigms of the artists experience of breaking through these imagined borders.
