Andrew Sutherland’s work consists of sculpture, painting and installation. Using a variety of mediums, his work explores what happens when sketch book drawings, everyday imagery and personal iconography’s collide with an inventive use of such materials as; wood, paint, polyurethane, video, and corrugated cardboard to name a few. His influences include the dramatic landscape of Colorado, his early forays into rebel architecture (building ramps, forts and other structures), and his father’s extensive collection of antique advertisements, toys, and collectibles.
