Normal Space is pleased to present this new work by Cassie Thornton, featuring photographs, a podcast, and a sculpture so large it can’t fit through the door – it can only be made on-site inside the studio! Nick Normal will live with this work for at least two weeks inside his bedroom-loft-garden-studio, while the buzz in the city will be art fairs art fairs art fairs, and the Flux Factory gears up for what is being termed the Final Showdown.
In the sunless winter of rural Finland, Cassie Thornton embarked on a quest for personal corporate acknowledgment and support. After her laptop broke, she opened renegade Apple franchises in abandoned forest real estate — capitalizing on the underwhelmed cultural landscape of the Scandinavian forest. This March, in the gallery/bedroom of artist Nick Normal, witness the conclusion of Thornton’s audio/visual journey with the grand opening of a commemorative five foot version of the technomiraculous 5th Avenue Apple store, and the unveiling of an earth-shattering technology that hopes to revolutionize all other Apple products.
