On first viewing Fox’s work one is struck by the depth of feeling and sense of mystery evoked in each piece. His use of black and the complex construction strike a chord so that his description of himself as an “esoteric artist” feels authentic. While his work, like all good art, is thoughtful, this art transports you to a more spiritual place, a more meditative stance where everything is one thing and all things are connected — people, places, past, present — all things.
Joseph Paul Fox – The Mystical Traveler Fox describes himself and his art this way:
I am forever grateful for this ongoing journey of the spirit and the co-creative energy that was given to me which enabled me to produce my sculptures, writings and music.
In my works of art, I reinterpret history, culture and the spiritual traditions of many cultures of people throughout the vast chain of time which shows that we are all linked together sharing the same story hued with many colors, shapes and symbols that are vehicles to empower the human spirit.
