ISE Cultural Foundation is pleased to present “The Ideal Cloud”, a group exhibition, featuring works by the artists Ian Burns, Miguel Palma and Emcee C.M., Master of None.
These three artists contend with social awareness and idealism through the use of materials, visual images and kinetic elements.
Burns re-constructs landscapes with mass produced plastic objects and found materials. Through the eye of a camera lens, these objects turn out to be something beautiful. Burns’ works directly explore the gap between how images are constructed and how they are consumed.
Palma often uses cars and airplanes that he finds to be fascinating inventions that articulate our times. In spite of the miniature-model-toy look of Palma’s work, through the creation of grandiose mechanical devices and gestures, Palma critically questions current sociological and ecological issues.
The work of Emcee C.M., Master of None is public, collaborative and relational. Emcee C.M. incorporates elements of performance, literature, music, interactive sculpture, prints and film in his projects. Through his “work” Emcee C.M., Master of None addresses American beliefs and values that are based on the consumerism and individualism.
