Reuben Lorch-Miller’s projection is a digitally composed video and sound collage of a swarm of helicopters hovering in a clear blue sky. The image diverts the viewer’s attention from the aircraft’s use in war, law-enforcement and surveillance. The sound of the motors and spinning blades becomes a musical composition that can be at once soothing and abrasive.
Reuben Lorch-Miller’s work was included in the recent group exhibition Terrorvision at Exit Art, New York, and he had a solo exhibition at Catherine Clark Gallery in San Francisco earlier this year. He lives and works in San Francisco.
