Edelman Arts is pleased to announce Stolen Moments, its first show to feature work by New York-based artist, Yasmine Chatila. The show, a site-specific installation taking place on two floors of the Edelman Arts townhouse, will include photographs and video. The artist’s large-scale images were taken over the past two years and communicate the urban reality of life in a fishbowl. A catalogue with an essay be James Fuentes accompanies the exhibition.

Yasmine Chatila was born in 1974 in Cairo. She received a BFA from Parsons, an MFA from Columbia University in New York, and is the recipient of numerous awards including a Columbia fellowship and Tag Heuer grant. Her work has been shown at numerous galleries in the U.S. and Europe, and her films have been shown at film festivals worldwide including the Locarno Festival and the Kunst Film Biennial. In April 2009 Chatila’s films are slated to be shown at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
