Often occupying a territory that blends the idiosyncratic with the mundane, SMITH-STEWART is pleased to present a new installation by RASHAWN GRIFFIN. Known for work that merges ideas of sentiment, displacement, strangeness, and humor, Griffin was included in the 2008 Whitney Biennial, is the subject of a two person exhibition at The Studio Museum in Harlem (R.S.V.P.), and is currently represented in the group exhibition Freeway Balconies at the Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin, curated by Collier Schorr.
