Galeria Janet Kurnatowski is pleased to present ‘i’ll go there, gladly” an exhibition of paintings by Kazimira Rachfal.

Calling to mind influences as art historically diverse as Kazimir Malevich and Mark Rothko, Kazimira Rachfal’s paintings subvert such painters as Rothko’s monumentality with an intimate scale. Her paintings are quiet, unassuming and slowly unfolding. The touch in Rachfal’s work is just as crucial to her pictorial language as her sense of light and distinctly muted palette. Because of their small format, the viewer is more closely engaged with their intricate surfaces.

Rachfal’s work has been recently reviewed in The New York Sun and The New York Observer. Her work has been included in numerous group exhibitions and the subject of a two-person exhibition at Diamontina gallery in Brooklyn. This is his second solo show with the gallery. An essay written by The New York Observer critic Mario Naves will complement the exhibition. For more information please contact the gallery.
