(October, 13th 2008 – New York, NY) “New Work: Art from the Workers at the New Museum” opens the back door of New York’s polemical-cum-nebulous contemporary art institution with over forty works from the docents, directors, art handlers, accountants, maintenance staff and security guards who keep the place running.

With painting, sculpture, photography, performance, music, and design, “New Work” reveals what all those invisibles are thinking about when they’re not committed to their desks or telling you to keep away from the art.

A catalog will be released in conjunction with the exhibition, available online on The Stanton Chapter website. Essay contributions from Seth Cameron, Maureen Connor, Ruby Mcneil and Greg Sholette will accompany images of the artwork from the exhibition.
