Brooklynite Gallery is proud to present the exhibition entitled, “SMOKING JACKETS FOR JERRY”, from K U I L D O O S H featuring artists MAT EKO, DAN MUDWIG and GRAHAM PARIS,
KUILDOOSH (pronounced Coo-el-doosh) and WET SHAME KNIGHTS (WSK) are both part and parcel of the same creative package from South West England. The three artists behind the duel crew identity are MAT EKO, DAN MUDWIG and GRAHAM PARIS. Their working styles have been molded by the need to advance, elaborate, ornament and armor the letter-form, and further more the alphabet. In recent years (2002 onwards) their joining with artist Mudwig has led to the emergence of a far more unpredictable and experimental style. Much of the group’s outdoor painting is now done in secret locations, deep in the depths of the English country-side. To them the wall has now become purely a surface large enough to house their organic & geometric compositions. Each painting they produce is a direct response to its immediate surroundings. “SMOKING JACKETS FOR JERRY” will bring to Brooklynite Gallery the most progressive English artists of their genre. If Victorian England had experienced graffiti . . . then it would have been KUILDOOSH. Where Dada & Futurism ever brought into the present . . . it would be through the work of KUILDOOSH.
